"I haven't seen anything like this since Katrina." Those were the words from one of the National Guard members I was talking with as we were looking at the damage done by the floods in Lyons. The damage that was done in our small town was much different than a flood. We live in the foothills at the bottom of the Rocky Mountains right at the convergence of the North and South Saint Vrain Rivers. Early in the morning on Thursday, September 12, the waters came raging down both rivers and damaged or destroyed most of our town. Our church building and property was badly damged also. However, the Church body is standing strong and ready to serve Him and walk with Him through our storm!
We are part of the Lyons community and we simply want to glorify His name, and be His hands and feet to our community through this "storm". Long after many of the relief organizations are gone, we will still be here in our community helping with what will be a long term recovery. 100% of the funds donated will go to the Lyons Crisis Relief, helping families and our community to recover and rebuild.
We are part of that recovery, as our church property and building will also need to be repaired or rebuilt. If you would like your donation to go strictly to outreach (families and homes in our community) please put that in the memo area.
